Storming his way into the hip-hop scene with his hit "A Bay Bay," Hurricane Chris received four BET Hip-Hop Awards including Track of the Year, Ringtone of the Year, Rookie Artist of the Year and the Alltel People's Choice (Viewer's Choice). The four nominations make Hurricane Chris the most voted amongst the other "rookie" nominees (Plies, Rich Boy, Lil' Boosie and MIMS)! The BET Hip-Hop Awards will air on the network on October 17 at 9:00PM ET/PT.
Hurricane Chris is set to release his official major label debut album 51/50 Ratchet on October 23 on Polo Grounds Music/J Records. Executive produced by Michael "Mr. Collipark" Crooms and Bryan Leach, President of Polo Grounds Music, 51/50 Ratchet is destined to be one of the biggest breakout albums from the south since Young Jeezy.
Rapping since the age of 8, Hurricane Chris has accumulated years of grinding and freestyling in Shreveport, LA (home of the Ratchet Movement), resulting in numerous guest appearances and mixtapes, including his most recent, Louisi-Animal, which, according to a positive review by the New York Times, "makes it even harder to wait for the album."
