Little Memphis Release Show

03/03/2008
.
(PR) New Hampshire band Little Memphis is set to release their long-awaited debut CD "Let Me Down Easy" on Wednesday, March 12th, 2008 on East Country Records. Little Memphis consists of core members Dan LaPorte and Todd LeBlanc both from Lebanon, New Hampshire. The duo has joined together to release some strong rootsy country music as recommended by Nashville producer Scotty Turner ((Slim Whitman, Jimmy Bryant, Willie Nelson, Nilsson).

Strangely enough, Little Memphis evolved from a band named Dan D and The Burning Love. Dan LaPorte, out of a deep love of Elvis Presleys music, set out with Todd LeBlanc to form the tribute band. While the tribute shows were fun, exciting and truly rewarding, Dan and Todd wanted to push their musical boundaries even further. They began working on recording a project in Northern Vermont. Once the project was done, they began sending it out to various producers around the country.

Shortly thereafter, Dan and Todd received a phone call from Scotty Turner, a well-respected Nashville producer and publisher. Scotty was impressed with the sound of Little Memphis. There began many phone conversations eventually leading to a meeting in Nashville. Scotty presented Dan and Todd with the original material from which they would select their album songs. So in November, 2007, they began recording their first album Let Me Down Easy produced by Scotty Turner and engineered by George Clinton (Shania Twain, Alabama, Martina McBride) at Bayou Studio in Nashville.

Little Memphis will kick-off their cd release with a party on Friday, April 4th at Elektra Night Club, 66 Benning Street, West Lebanon, NH beginning at 9PM. Nashville's Dave Northrup (Travis Tritt) and Ray Whitlock will join Little Memphis on drums and keyboards/background vocals respectively for the this show.
