Carter's Chord Set Debut on Toby Keith's Label

(UMe) Carter's Chord, the musically-preordained trio on Show Dog Nashville, will release their self-titled debut through all major online retailers on June 17. The albums physical release is expected later this year.

Produced by Toby Keith and Barny Robertson, the trio's father, Carter's Chord captures the music of sisters Becky, Emily and Joanna Robertson. The trio's musical pedigree traces to infancy and accomplished parents Barny and Carter Robertson, who toured in Waylon Jennings band until the birth of their oldest daughter Becky. The group's name is an homage to their mother.

Carter's Chord includes 10 tracks, five written by Becky, Emily or Joanna, and a backing vocal (on "Summer Early '60s") by their mother Carter, who is also the song's composer. The album also features the band's new single "Different Breed."

In addition to their own contributions, Carter's Chord enlisted some of Nashville's most accomplished writers as they compiled songs for the project. Hillary Lindsey ("Jesus Take The Wheel"), Scooter Caruso ("Better Than A Memory"), Aimee Mayo ("Amazed"), Craig Wiseman ("Love Me If You Can"), Sarah Buxton ("Stupid Boy"), Carolyn Dawn Johnson ("Georgia") and Kim Ritchey ("Believe Me Baby I Lied") all receive writing credits on the album.

Becky, Emily and Joanna made their major label debut as children, singing on Waylon Jennings' country album for kids, Cowboys, Sisters, Rascals & Dirt. Their immersion in music led them almost inevitably to Nashville, where Toby Keith was one of many instant fans taken in by their incomparable sibling harmony. They will tour with Keith, Montgomery Gentry and Trailer Choir on Keith's Biggest & Baddest Tour, running June through Fall 2008.
