Steve Wynn Week: Day 4

(antiMusic) There is very little new we can say by way of introduction for Steve Wynn. As an artist Steve in many ways is his generation's answer to Bob Dylan, in not only style but with his diversity. Steve just released his new album 'Crossing Dragon Bridge' a couple weeks ago and this week we are honored to have Steve tell us a little bit about a few of his favorite songs from the album. Here he is with today's song:

Wait Until You Get To Know Me: I was going to work on a song with my buddy Joe Hurly. Joe is an Irish-born, London-raised singer who lives in New York City and fronts the band Rogues March. He's a very evocative singer and lyricist and also quite the man about town, a guy you're likely to encounter in an East Village bar and end up the next day with a hangover and a vague memory of a pretty amazing night. Anyway, I wanted to write a song for his band, something that would fit his personality and character and started writing this one, not wanting to go too far so that he would be able to lend his own input. But he was busy, I was busy and the inspiration was flowing and before I knew it the song was done. It became more of a song written about him rather than a song written with him. No problem-he gave it his blessing and I got a good song and a character that's fun to inhabit on stage once a night.
