The editors' picks for the 10 Best Albums of the Year appear in AP's February Year In Review issue, out January 5, 2010. The magazine, which Taking Back Sunday graced the June 2009 cover of, praised New Again as "undeniably brilliant."
It has been a banner year for the New York quintet. New Again, their fourth studio album, was the third consecutive Taking Back Sunday release to debut in the top 10 on the Billboard Top 200 Album Chart. Warner Bros Records released the album on June 2nd and the band celebrated with a performance of their Top 10 Modern Rock hit "Sink Into Me" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Since the release of New Again, Taking Back Sunday has been touring constantly, wowing audiences with their electric performances. They have headlined all over the US & abroad, joined Blink-182 and Weezer on a sizzling summer tour, and most recently co-headlined a nationwide run with The All-American Rejects. Taking Back Sunday harnessed their live energy in the recently released album Live From Bamboozle '09, available exclusively on iTunes. Live From Bamboozle'09 captures the band playing to a crowd of over 30 thousand fans at the 2009 Bamboozle Festival, which took place in Rutherford, New Jersey on May 3rd. This is the first time songs from all four of the band's albums are together on one release.
Taking Back Sunday culminated 2009 with two very special performances at the Angel Orensanz foundation in New York City. The unique venue and intimate setting was the perfect backdrop for the acoustic sets, which were filmed for an upcoming DVD.
