Recorded in L.A. and produced by Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields), this release follows his debut, which was declared one of the "Best Albums of the Year," by iTunes and earned him the title of "Best Singer Songwriter of The Year" by the LA Weekly.
For his new album, AM found inspiration in his own extensive 1960s record collection ranging from obscure Brazilian music to Italian soundtracks. Fusing simple, intelligent lyrics, undeniable pop sensibilities and sparse, psychedelic grooves, Future Sons & Daughters strikes a balance between the classic and the modern.
Future Sons & Daughters brings a heady brew of twinkling, Anglified folk-rock-pop and twanging Americana, simultaneously caressing Philly soul and funky R&B. With bridges and choruses reminiscent of The Beatles and Badfinger, Curtis Mayfield and Jorge Ben, AM demonstrates the simple fact of songwriting: imagination and taste is what it's all about.
AM will launch the release with an upcoming L.A. performance at Hotel Caf, followed by an August East Coast tour with The Rescues.
