(PR) For more than four decades the name Santana has been synonymous with groundbreaking musical approaches, and 25 year old keyboardist, vocalist, songwriter and bandleader Salvador Santana is well-versed in the familial traditions. 2009 welcomes Salvador to the spotlight in a major way with his second major studio effort/full length and first solo album due this fall on his very own VBE label.

Salvador pushes the envelope by summoning underground legends to join his creative tour de force. His project will allow the world to hear musical icons such as Del The Funky Homosapien, Money Mark (Beastie Boys), GZA, plus other surprise guests, collaborating with Salvador for the first time.

Built out of what he calls "a mix of my favorite music, the best of what's impacted my life, all coming together in a new way", Salvador first masterminded this idea in the fall of 2008 when he commissioned a remix of his song "Hella Tight" from Del The Funky Homosapien for his Remixes project.

The Remixes released in August 2008 and available at all digital retailers, featured hand picked remixes of songs from Salvador's freshman effort, SSB. The obvious synergy between Salvador and Del, along with the eclectic and fresh sound of the Remixes project, inspired Salvador to shepherd other musical geniuses into the studio to build a fresh new sound for his sophomore release - a sound Salvador had been seeking for some time.

Mark Ramos Nis***a aka Money Mark is a musician, composer, and producer who is most noted for his collaborations with the Beastie Boys. He is currently working with them on the re-release of "Check Your Head", an album he co-produced. In addition to collaborating with Salvador, Mark is scoring a new Aaron Rose movie and recording with Grammy winners, The Mars Volta. He is also producing the new Raymond Pettibone/Mike Watt album and working with the band Kinky on their new single and video.

Since 1990, when he made his auspicious debut on cousin Ice Cube's classic Amerikkka's Most Wanted, Del The Funky Homosapien has set the benchmark for advanced rap lyricism. His 1999 album, Both Sides of the Brains, sold in excess of 100,000 copies. Deltron 3030, in 2000, also sold over 100,000 units and became a fan favorite. As the lead writer and rapper on the smash single "Clint Eastwood," Del helped turn Gorillaz' self-titled debut album into an international success. His 2008 full length, "Eleventh Hour", was Del's first widespread take on musical theory and his work with Salvador is setting the standard for Del to take his funky world to the next level. In the meantime, keep an eye out for more special guests and singles from Salvador's upcoming full length to be announced in the near future.
