As we come closer to the year 2010, we're going to be taking a quick look back at some of the biggest stories of the past decade. We kick off today with Jan - March of 2000. We'll start with the second most read story in antiMusic history from March of 2000: Pantera fans are in an all out war against 'NSYNC. No, they are not bashing young teenage girls upside their heads. What they are doing is mobilizing to position Pantera ahead of 'NSYNC where it counts the most, in album sales. more

It was inevitable, Marilyn Manson is doing a cover of his name sake Charles Manson. Marilyn recorded an acoustic version of "Sick City", a song written by the Murder Cult leader. more

Megadeth has bid farewell to their guitarist Marty Friedman midway through their current tour. Megadeth quickly got a press release stating that Marty left the band "to pursue other musical interests." There has been no word yet directly from the guitarist for his reasons for leaving the band. more

There was a new form of torture just discovered by authorities at the University of Toronto. Campus police are blasting Backstreet Boys and Wayne Newton songs in hopes of drawing out protesting students who are engaged in a "sit-in". more

Fans of the Deftones, the wait is almost over. Their new album, "White Pony" will be in stores on June 20th with a couple of extra surprises. Tool vocalist Maynard James Keenan makes a special appearance on the two of the album tracks. B-Real from Cypress Hill will also appear as a guest star more

Sean "Puffy" Combs and his girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were arrested on Dec 27th after allegedly leaving a night club where three people were shot. According to reports Puff Daddy had some type of verbal altercation with some other club goers when one of his entourage Shyne (real name Jamal Barrow) pulled out a gun and started shooting. more

Third Eye Blind is the latest band to join the growing list of acts that have undergone a lineup change this month. If you cruise over to Third Eye Blinds web site you will notice that Kevin Cadogan is nowhere to be found. To add insult to injury apparently the band not only fired the poor guy but they pulled the old Quiet Riot trick of leaving the newly axed member stranded on the road. more

Jay-Z appeared in the New York Criminal Court in Manhattan on February 22nd, and plead "not Guilty" to first and second degree assault charges. more

And we had this story about KISS's bogus fan money grab, a.k.a. "farewell tour" The Bat Lizard, Star Child, Space Ace and Cat Man are hanging up their platform boots and taking off the makeup, putting an end to almost 30 years of Kisstory. more

AC/DC are riding high with the successful release of their latest album, "Stiff Upper Lip." They snagged the number one spot on Billboard's rock chart and were #7 in overall sales in the United States last week. more

C.C. Deville has once more passed through the revolving door that is Poison. It didn't take long for C.C. DeVille to come to his senses and reconcile with his band mates. He confirmed he had returned during a interview last Saturday on WDHA Radio in New Jersey. more

Anthrax have signed on Dave Sabo of Skid Row fame to handle guitar duties on their current tour starting on Feb 7th in Vancouver until the conclusion of the tour on Feb 12th. In related news, Paul Crook who has been playing guitar on the tour is leaving to join ex-Skid Row vocalist Sabastian Bach on the road starting on Feb 5th. more

Pearl Jam returns! After a long wait fans will get new music and a tour from the grunge vets starting this Spring. A new album called "Binaural" will hit the stores on May 23rd. more

And again, some things never change: Britney Spears was accused by a reporter for the Birmingham News of Lip Syncing during a recent concert in Alabama. According to the reviewer, who watched the show from the front row, Britney used far too many pre-recorded vocals during her set. The reporter said Britney's performance was "like a badly dubbed movie or a cheapo cartoon." more
