Just 23 years old singer/songwriter Matt Hires is the first artist signed to F-Stop Music, a new imprint label under Atlantic Records. The Tampa native released his debut album "Take Us To The Start"- which was produced by Eric Rosse (Sara Bareilles, Tori Amos) - exclusively through iTunes earlier this summer. The digital-only release hit the top 10 on iTunes' overall "Top Albums" chart, while also reaching the upper half of the Billboard 200. The album was officially released in stores on August 25th to advance critical praises.
Hires' is a prime example of TV placements being instrumental in promoting artists and their music. His song "Turn the Page" was featured on an episode of Grey's Anatomy last year, which prompted his EP "Live from The Hotel Caf" to jump into the Top 10 on the iTunes Singer-Songwriter chart. His music has also received placement on ABC's Private Practice and the trailer for the movie "The Boys Are Back." Most recently, Hires' song "Out Of The Dark" was featured on an episode of Grey's Anatomy on 10/22. Following the broadcast Hires' debut album "Take Us To The Start" jumped over 100 spots on the itunes album chart to #86- further proof that Hires' is creating music that people are reacting to.
