Singer Cleared In Death of Bandmates

(abc.net.au) The lead singer of a heavy metal band has been found not guilty of dangerous driving causing death over an accident that claimed the life of two of his band members on the New South Wales north coast.

Jamie Hope was driving a van carrying members of his band The Red Shore on the Pacific highway north of Coffs Harbour in the early hours of December 19 2007.

The van ran off the road and hit a tree, killing two men and seriously injuring three others. Mr Hope pleaded not guilty to five charges including dangerous driving causing death.
