The Day in Rock Digest for 8/2: AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson revealed during an appearance this past Thursday (July 29) on "The Chris Evans Breakfast Show" on U.K.'s BBC Radio 2 that the band will "probably bring a live album out" at some point in the not-too-distant future. Def Leppard is hatching plans for some archival projects in 2011. Elliott tells Billboard.com that the group, which is taking 2010 off from touring, is putting together a live album culled from its 2009 tour that may include some new material as well. more

Gary Numan has told Rock Radio that Trent Reznor deliberately sabotaged Nine Inch Nails' Sonisphere show in 2009 � because he thought Metallica fans were going to give him a hard time. The inaugural festival at Knebworth, headlined by Metallica, was billed as NIN's last-ever live performance in the UK. The dirge-ridden set, which lacked any of the band's most popular tracks, disappointed the entire festival audience � especially NIN fans, who expected a grand farewell from Reznor and co. The Haunted have issued the following update: "We are sorry to announce that due to an illness that required immediate medical attention, we are forced to cancel our last three performances as support to Slayer. We are, of course, very sad for this, and would like to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause." more
