The Kinks Ray Davis Lines Up All-Star Cast For New Album

. Ray Davies' website has been gradually revealing artists who will be appearing on the former Kinks frontman's forthcoming album. Featuring a host of collaborations, Davies' new album will feature alt-rock heroes Spoon, Pixies main man Frank Black, singer-songwriter Lucinda Williams and the late, great Alex Chilton.

Other tracks are likely to include a version of "Better Things" with Bruce Springsteen, "Celluloid Heroes" with Bon Jovi and � according to a blog post by Smashing Pumpkins producer Kerry Brown � a new take on "Destroyer" with Billy Corgan.

According to RayDavies.info, the album does not yet have a name, nor has it been confirmed if all the songs will be covers of Kinks material. However, it does indicate that Davies would like to release the album by the end of the year. -
