. The inquest heard that Cable began drinking on Friday, June 4. He presented his BBC radio show the following day and then continued drinking that evening in his local pub. He continued drinking at home until 5 a.m. The drinking continued the next afternoon (Sunday) until late in the evening when Cable fell asleep on the sofa. He never woke again.
