Red Hot Chili Peppers have reportedly found a new axeman to replace the departed John Frusciante, Australian music site Undercover reports that Josh Klinghoffer is the new member and will make his debut with the band when they perform Jan. 29 at MusiCares. more

Some one decided to actually ask a member of Led Zeppelin about the latest reunion rumors. Nightwatcher had this report: Jimmy Page is planning to work on new music in 2010, but despite making it clear he'd welcome a Led Zeppelin reunion, he refuses to carry the band's moniker without Plant's involvement. He says, "You'd better ask Robert Plant what the future of Led Zeppelin is. Musicians can always play together but I don't think you can go out with a band called Led Zeppelin if you haven't got the original vocalist." more

Roger Friedman had this report about the Crock Hall of Lame: you might call Jann Wenner the "desperate despot" of rock. Apparently the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction rules are under scrutiny and Jann may bump up the eligibility to just 20 years so they can induct some bigger names (and perhaps sell more tickets?). Of course, inducting some of the bands that are currently qualified and sell plenty of tickets in arenas world wide but have been snubbed by the crock hall so far might be a better idea.
