The Day in Rock Digest for 7/22: Seems every Beach Boy has a different story to tell. Jam! had this bit of news yesterday, Al Jardine has confirmed the original The Beach Boys are planning a major reunion to mark the group's 50th anniversary in 2011 - and it will probably be a free extravaganza. Not so fast, someone forgot to confirm this with a key member of the band! more

Rolling Stone spoke with Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry about his recent motorcycle accident. Perry tells RS: "This woman behind me just didn't slow down at the light. She was going 25-30 miles per hour and just rear-ended me. Everything on the bike from the engine back is smashed up, but I don't even have a black and blue mark. I can't believe it. I'm just really lucky." As for his injuries, "I definitely felt banged up," he says. "I had whiplash and my lower back was throbbing. I've been in enough accidents to know that you don't know how banged up you are for a while." more

German edition of Metal Hammer sent this over: John Garcia (Kyuss) stopped in Berlin to play Kyuss-songs and was interviewed about the tour, the old days and a possible reunion with guitarist Josh Homme (Queens Of The Stone Age) - which John Garcia nixed. "I'd rather see Josh call me for a beer instead of playing music again". Check it out here

Drummer Tom Schofield of Chicago heavy rockers Soil has informed Blabbermouth.Net that singer/guitarist A.J. Cavalier is on an "indefinite hiatus" from the band but has not officially quit the group. Schofield also revealed that he is "looking for new musical opportunities while A.J. is on hiatus." more

Avenged Sevenfold have vowed to make their first gig since the death of Jimmy Sullivan an emotional tribute to their tragic drummer. Sullivan died from an accidental overdose of prescription drugs in December, and the band considered quitting altogether in the wake of his passing. more

Morgan Harrington Memorial Golf Tournament will be held this Friday. Harrington was the young lady who went missing at a Metallica concert which led to a massive manhunt with the band putting up a substantial reward before she was later found dead. more
