Hinder Select Smashing Openers Bad City for US Tour
. Currently on the road with The Smashing Pumpkins, Bad City was hand picked as tour support by Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan himself. "Bad City play with the fire of early SP (Smashing Pumpkins) and somehow have managed to gene splice in '80s hair metal. A superfresh take on the Rock," exclaimed Corgan. The series of intimate club dates with the veteran rockers is currently wrapping up and will conclude with a performance July 24th at Mr. Smalls Theater in Millvale, PA. From there, Bad City will join hard rockers Hinder for a series of US dates, which will kick off at Kansas City's The Beaumont Club on August 4th, with dates running through the end of the month (see attached itinerary). With its pounding drums, soaring guitars, and stadium size choruses, "WELCOME TO THE WASTELAND" aims to revive the over the top spirit of classic rock 'n' roll, while maintaining an attitude and philosophy all its own. "The point isn't to be retro, it's to embody the spirit of what rock 'n' roll bands used to be like before things got so boring and safe," noted guitarist Tom Schleiter. Produced by Grammy Award-nominee Johnny K (Staind, Sevendust, 3 Doors Down), The album offers powerful cuts like the gritty anthem "Wildlife" and the swaggering focus track "Take Me For A Ride." Both can currently be heard at the band's www.myspace.com/badcitymusic as well as their own YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/badcity.
