The Love Hope Strength Foundation (LHS), a global rock n' roll cancer foundation announced today that on July 31st, 2010, Chris Carrabba, the lead singer of Dashboard Confessional will headline a special charity pilgrimage atop the world's second most visited mountain.

The event, dubbed 'Pikes Peak Rocks 2010', will bring together cancer survivors, supporters, and musicians to benefit global cancer care and a nationwide bone marrow registration campaign that helps locate matches for patients with Leukemia and other blood disorders.

LHS will be leading a group of over a hundred hikers who will climb Pikes Peak that morning to raise money and show their support in fighting the world's leading cause of death. On the way up the mountain, hikers will be treated to musical performances by Miles Zuniga of Grammy nominated band, Fastball, solo artist, Nathan Croswhite, and the critically acclaimed Colorado band, John Common & Blinding Flashes of Light.

Zuniga will also play a special set the evening before at a special reception for hikers.

The concert atop Pikes Peak will be followed by a special reception at Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where the top fundraisers for 'Pikes Peak Rocks' will meet folk singer Brett Dennen and be treated to special seats for the concert featuring both Dennen and renowned act, Michael Franti & Spearhead. The Love Hope Strength Foundation will unveil their 2010 prayer flags during the Michael Franti & Spearhead set, and will be hosting a free bone marrow registration drive during the early parts of the show. With the help of Visa, DKMS, Ralph Schomp, and HealthOne, bone marrow registration drives like this have allowed LHS to register thousands of Red Rocks goers to the bone marrow registry in less than two years time.

Last year, LHS became the first organization to hold a benefit concert atop Pikes Peak and raised international awareness for the event that featured The Bacon Brothers, The White Buffalo, and Cy Curnin of The Fixx.
'Pikes Peak Rocks 2010' is the latest effort in a series of LHS' "Rocks" events that combine music, traveling and adventure to raise money and provide resources for those affected by cancer. The next 'Rocks event', entitled Fuji Rocks, will take place this August in Japan, and will feature a nine day expedition to the top of Mt. Fuji. Forty musicians, cancer survivors and supporters will join in a symbolic pilgrimage to the top of Japan's highest mountain to close out the Mountain's hiking season an official ceremony called the "Fire Festival".

Past "Rocks" events include a concert atop Mt. Kilimanjaro, Mt. Everest, Macchu Picchu, Peru, and on the roof of the Empire State Building.

Those wishing to support "Pikes Peak Rock 2010" or future LHS initiatives can register to hike, send a prayer flag, or make a donation at
