The soundtrack features new music from The Boxer Rebellion and The Airborne Toxic Event, and also boasts a great mix of indie-rock tastemakers such as Cat Power, Band of Skulls, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Passion Pit, intermingled with music from The Cure, The Pretenders and The Replacements, among others. Starting in Mid-August, movie-goers who purchase their "Going The Distance" tickets from Fandango.com and Movietickets.com will get a free download of The Boxer Rebellion's song "Evacuate" from the movie soundtrack. Additional new music on the soundtrack includes a haunting new song by Los Angeles' The Airborne Toxic Event titled "Half of Something Else," as well as "Either Way" by New Orleans-based Generationals, which kicks off the collection. Fans who purchase the "Going The Distance" soundtrack CD will have access to a link to three additional songs, along with additional bonus video content.
