Primary Wave Music have released a new iPhone game based on the classic hit "Walking On Sunshine" by Katrina & The Waves.

The game features the exclusive premier of a newly recorded version of "Walking On Sunshine" by the famed South African Soweto Gospel Choir.

It became available for purchase on the iPhone in May for 99 cents and a free demo flashed-based version is available on the Primary Wave Games website.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of "Walking On Sunshine" a song that took the pop world by storm on the airwaves, becoming a top ten song on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1985. Lead guitarist and songwriter Kimberley Rew collaborated with the Grammy award winning Soweto Gospel Choir on the newly recorded African-inspired version of the song, which will make its premiere in this game. The Soweto Gospel Choir has recorded with an impressive array of artists including Robert Plant, Queen, Peter Gabriel, Bono and Paul Simon.

At its core, the game's concept has an environmental angle. Gray clouds have covered the sky and prevented the sunlight from breaking through. Slowly, all the beauty and life is fading from The Earth. In order to complete each level, players must swipe away clouds to reveal the sun behind. By collecting sunlight (kilowatts) players help replenish and re-grow the beauty and vitality of four distinct climates of Earth.

California artist Nathan J. Crow designed the game graphics. The game includes Facebook connectivity allowing players to share scores with friends. The levels feature unlockable content which reveal exclusive album covers, photos and sketches from Katrina and The Waves.

"Walking on Sunshine" marks the second release from Primary Wave Games, a division under Primary Wave Music responsible for creating games and apps based on the company's artists and catalogs.
