Original Kinks bassist Pete Quaife has died at the age of 66. He was a member of the band from 1961 until 1969, playing on such classics as You Really Got Me, All The Day And All Of The Night, Dedicated Follower Of Fashion and Waterloo. more

Billboard reports Carlos Santana will record a version of Def Leppard's "Photograph" for his upcoming album, due out this September. more. Courtney Love infuriated fans at a gig in Boston, Massachusetts on Wednesday by leaving them waiting for nearly three hours before gracing the stage. Jam! reports that Love was due to perform an acoustic set at the city's Ames Hotel in conjunction with local radio station WFNX, but the notoriously unpredictable singer arrived extremely late. more

Glenn Hughes reportedly went into the studio last week to record a "duet" with his late former Purple bandmate - guitar legend Tommy Bolin. According to Hughes, he laid down vocals on an unfinished Bolin track, "Lotus in an Oriental Sky", adding that the album it's slated for will be a tribute album to the late guitarist, who tragically passed away at the age of 25 in Miami on December 4, 1976 more
