. Slowhand says writing his autobiography cleared up many of the misunderstandings caused by drinking and drug-taking in his younger years. But it also saw an end to some outlandish semi-biographical projects, including the bizarre script in which he was responsible for the deaths of Hendrix in 1970 and Vaughan in 1990. "Movie ideas have come up, biographical docudramas or whatever, that are so bizarre. You would laugh." Clapton tells Rolling Stone. "There was one that came in, and the guy was adamant we should go with it.
