Grunge Pioneers Gruntruck Revisited
. Gruntruck was one of the bands who defined the early Seattle grunge scene. The group recorded two spectacular albums "Inside Yours" and "Push" - but afterwards faded into obscurity, overshadowed by the bigger and more successful grunge acts. This exclusive double reissue brings back both classic CDs in one package an ultimate taste of the Sound of Seattle The album, produced by the legendary Jack Endino received a very warm reception on the local scene. Reviewers went on to compare Gruntruck's music to the early works of Soundgarden and Alice In Chains, pointing out the remarkable ability to join metal heaviness with post-punk and arena rock, spicing it up with a bit of 70's funk. Such songs as "Paint" and "So Long" became instant hits and the group managed to gather an impressive following. The band released their second album "Push" on February 2nd, 1992. The sophomore offering brought an even heavier material, with such brilliant tracks as "Tribe", "Gotta Believe" and "Crazy Love" (to which a video was made). Jack Endino once again proved his extraordinary skills, delivering excellent production. Preview and Purchase Gruntruck CDs |
