Nashville rock band Shirock and the Twilight Saga's Michael Welch held a charity clothing drive and fundraiser for The Midnight Mission at The Roxy in Los Angeles on March 2, 2010. The purpose of the night was to generate clothing and financial donations for the homeless community of Skid Row who are served by The Midnight Mission as well as to raise general awareness of the homeless situation in Los Angeles. Over four large barrels of clothing were donated by attendees at the event, which adds to the total generated during SHIROCK's other charity events while in L.A.

The evening commenced with red carpet arrivals featuring various celebrities and special guests including Michael Welch (Twilight), Natalia Livingston (General Hospital, Rough Hustle) and Dean Haglund (X-Files). Introductory remarks were given by Twilight's Michael Welch, who welcomed everyone to the venue, introduced the Midnight Mission's Mai Lee, and gave the capacity crowd an overview of the night's festivities. The audience then enjoyed a fashion presentation from designer Paige Mycoskie's clothing line Aviator Nation worn by models from Models International. Welch then took the stage again to introduce the headlining act SHIROCK, who are on tour in support of their debut album Everything Burns. The band delivered a dynamic, passionate performance that showcased their philosophy of giving back to local communities they visit during their travels. After SHIROCK's performance, Los Angeles based rock band THE DAYLIGHTS performed and demonstrated why they've earned a reputation as a premiere live act as well.

SHIROCK founder and lead singer Chuck Shirock remarked "We've been in Los Angeles for a week to promote the event at The Roxy. It's been so encouraging to see the L.A. community including Loyola Marymount University (LMU), local high schools, The Roxy on Sunset, Luthier Society, Celebrities, Designers, Bands and fans rally together to provide clothes for the Midnight Mission and raise awareness of their cause. Last week we stopped by the Midnight Mission to meet the residents of Skid Row and perform a set for them. It was overwhelming how the residents there breathed new life into our songs and brought us back to the real roots of our musicto find hope in the midst of uncertainty." - http://shirock.net/
