(Rock AAA) Porcupine Tree's Steven Wilson says the secret to making good music is to avoid having a "limited listening diet" � and recommends experiencing ABBA tracks if you want to avoid being dull.

And the prog metal mainman says Opeth frontman Mikael Akerfeldt shares his appreciation for the 70s Swedish pop four-piece. In fact, that's the reason the pair began working together.

"Mikael and I bonded on ABBA � he's a huge fan too," Wilson tells MusicRadar. "If you want to understand how to produce great records and great pop songs, and how to write great pop songs, listen to ABBA's music from the 1970s. They're amazing. -
