. (Gibson) Forbes.com has announced that Michael Jackson is the past year's top-earning dead celebrity. The King of Pop made $275 million, more than the other 12 celebrities on the list combined.

Elvis Presley came in at a very distant #2 with $60 million earned, much of it from tours of his Graceland estate, a Cirque du Soleil show and lots of licensing deals.

"Jackson's spot atop our top earning dead celebrities list should come as no surprise given the renewed fan interest in music, videos and all things Michael Jackson," Forbes writer Lacey Rose said. "Thanks to a lucrative catalog, hit film and album sales, the late king of pop earned more in the last year than Lady Gaga, Madonna and Jay-Z, combined." - more on this story
