John Peel Returns To The Airwaves

. (Gibson) BBC Radio 6 Music is to begin broadcasting 15-minute segments of classic John Peel broadcasts during the Marc Riley morning show. According to the Guardian, they will also be available as podcasts.

BBC Radio 1's longest-serving DJ died in 2004 at age 65, while on vacation in Peru. The Peel/Riley connection goes back to the days when Peel championed Riley's old band, The Fall.

Riley said: "Listening to various clips of John in preparation for these programmes it all came flooding back. John's warmth, his bone-dry humor, his passion for the eclectic mix of music he played not to mention his wonderful sense of mischief. more on this story
