Pink Floyd To Release MP3 Singles

(Rock AAA) Pink Floyd have cut a deal with record label EMI to allow the release of singles from their back-catalogue even though they recently spent ten months in law courts fighting against any such releases.

The prog rock icons had argued that making individual tracks available went against a clause in their contract requiring EMI to "preserve the artistic integrity" of their work.

The label disagreed and a lengthy legal battle ensued, which Floyd won last month. But now surviving members Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason have signed a new deal allowing EMI to release MP3 singles.
