Josh Turner's After The Storm Event Raised $150K For Tornado Relief
. All proceeds from After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit Concert With Josh Turner will be split evenly between the Ringgold Band and the Ringgold athletic fund. Turner was able to tour the damaged facilities to see first-hand why he was performing that night. He dedicated his song The Answer to the Ringgold residents who lost their lives during the tornado. Anytime you can come together as a community to help lift each other up, its a good day. But when you can accomplish something of this magnitude as a team in these uncertain times it really shows the true meaning of family. Overall we feel Muddy Gras was an overwhelming success despite the weather. Gator Harrison, Operations Manager/Program Director: WUSY US-101 The EF-4 tornado that ripped through downtown Ringgold, GA destroyed about 50% of the towns businesses and many homes and places of worship. The greatest losses were the nine people that lost their lives as a result of the storm which included two students from Ringgold High School. Ringgold High School and Ringgold Middle School both suffered major damage. Insurance is paying for all the work to repair the structural damage on the schools, but there has been no money to pay for the athletic facilities and equipment and band equipment lost in the storm.
