Yngwie Malmsteen May Be On New Swedish Currency

. (Gibson) Very soon, Swedes may be able to "unleash the fury" from their wallets. The Swedish government is reportedly replacing many of its coins with paper currency, according to Dagens Industri.

And when they make the change, there is a movement at Sweden's central bank (the Riksbank) to honor more modern figures on the new bills, including Bach-n-roller #1, Yngwie Malmsteen.

The metal speedburner heads a list of modern figures in Swedish society under consideration for the honor. Others include hockey star Peter Forsberg, Pippi Longstocking author Astrid Lindgren and award inspiration/dynamite inventor Alfred Nobel. more on this story
