Nile Rodgers Cancer Free

. (Gibson) Legendary guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers has wrote on a blog post that he is winning his battle against cancer. The Chic guitarist/mastermind was diagnosed in October 2010, but admits he still faces a long road to recovery.

Rodgers, 58, blogged: "It was rainy and warm as I went to see my doctors for the second straight day. Though I'm now Cancer Free, my post operative symptoms require a huge amount of recuperative therapy." Rodgers has declined to say what form of cancer he has been suffering from.

The funk guitarist /producer �� who has written or overseen a huge amount of floor-filling hits including Chic's "Le Freak," "We Are Family" by Sister Sledge, "Remember The Time" by Michael Jackson and "Material Girl" by Madonna � compared the disease to "jaws savagely eating me from the inside out." more on this story
