. The 63-year-old singer has joined the conservative Nationals party, and is planning to run for one of two seats in the state of New South Wales. Anderson told The Australian newspaper, "At this stage we are just talking about possibilities, that's about as much as I can say, we are talking." Anderson is a vocal opponent of Australia's proposed carbon tax, and is well known for his work with the under-privileged.
