Ultimate Classic Rock reports that to filmmaker Michael Winterbottom is bring the story of the Beatles and Apple Records to the big screen.

The film will be called 'The Longest Cocktail Party' and will focus on the brief but important period between the founding of Apple Records in 1968 until the Beatles recording sessions for 'Let It Be.'

Based on Richard DiLello's book, the title references the hey days of Apple Records, when entertaining guests in lavish style was a common practice and one that helped lead to the company's downfall. But don't look for the fab four in the film and there is an Oasis connection as well.
