(Rock News Desk) Anthrax frontman Joey Belladonna says he had the situation under control before over-zealous security guards slammed him and a stage invader into a multi-man pileup.

The drama unfolded at a show in LA last weekend 90 minutes into the band's show. A single fan managed to make his way onto the stage and Belladonna went to tackle him. But a large bouncer climbed onto the stage and knocked both of them off their feet, and several other security guards joined in. The band stopped the show with bassist Frank Bello shouting angrily at venue staff while guitarist Scott Ian told the crowd: "It's pretty smart to tackle the singer I guess they haven't seen him up here on stage for the last 90 minutes."

Now the singer has shared his own thoughts on the event. Belladonna tells Metal Assault: "He bulldozed me. I got slammed. Then there was, like, and eight-guy pile-on. I was like, 'This is not happening.' more on this story
