(TMZ) Britney Spears showed up in court in downtown L.A. yesterday to talk to the judge in her conservatorship case.

Britney was there for a status hearing ... she's shown up several times before to have a chit chat with the judge.

There will be no decisions made today -- it's purely for the judge to monitor Britney's progress, both personally and professionally. more on this story
