Beach Boys 50th Anniversary Tour Dates
. The upcoming tour, the majority of which is booked into outdoor venues, gets underway April 24 in Tucson, AZ, and dates are currently scheduled through mid-July. The band has recorded new songs for a studio album that will be released later this year. Brian Wilson is producing the set, and Mike Love is the executive producer. In addition to the tour and new album, Capitol/EMI is planning to issue commemorative catalog releases in conjunction with the band's golden anniversary, including a new hits collection and a career-spanning box set. For the anniversary trek, the band's lineup will feature original members Wilson, Love and Al Jardine, along with Bruce Johnston, who joined in 1965, and guitarist David Marks, who played with the band in 1962 and 1963. The band's surviving core members haven't toured together since founding member Carl Wilson died in 1998, with Brian Wilson, Jardine and Love trading lawsuits and splitting into different touring groups. The band's other founder, Dennis Wilson, drowned in 1983. April 2012 May 2012 June 2012 July 2012
