Former David Bowie Guitarist Joins The Cure

05/30/2012
.
(Gibson) Former David Bowie/Tin Machine guitarist Reeves Gabrels is a member of The Cure for their summer festival tour in Europe. The Cure and Gabrels kept the news under wraps until their performance at the PinkPop 2012 festival in Holland on May 26.

The collaboration isn't the first time Gabrels has worked with The Cure, collaborating with the band on the tracks "Wrong Number" from their 1997 Galore singles compilation, and "A Sign From God" (as COGASM). Gabrels also co-wrote the song "Yesterday's Gone" with Cure frontman Robert Smith for Gabrels's solo album Ulysses.

There is no word yet on whether Gabrels will join The Cure on an extended basis or if his current tenure with the band is just for the European shows. more on this story
