Bon Iver Sideband Volcano Choir Release Album Documentary
. For the band's second recorddue out Sept. 3they decided to take a more direct approach in comparison, unlike their 2009 debut, Unmap, which had Vernon and fellow Wisconsin indie rockers Collections of Colonies of Bees teaming up mostly by accident. "We were all friends trading things back and forth and seeing what weird stuff we could come up," the band explains. In the doc, which features gorgeous footage of Wisconsin (yes, Vernon has returned to the woods), the band talks about touring Japan and becoming a real band, teasing a bit of new music in the process. Volcano Choir recently released the album's first single, "Byegone" and announced that they'll be hitting the road for a handful of dates this fall, kicking things off on Sept. 6 in Chicago.
