Thin Lizzy Inspired Original Dio Members To Reunite

(TeamRock Radio) Vivian Campbell says Thin Lizzy are to blame for the original members of Dio reuniting as Last In Line. The Def Leppard guitarist has got back together with drummer Vinnie Appice, bassist Jimmy Bain and keyboardist Claude Schnell, with vocalist Andy Freeman replacing the late Ronnie James Dio.

In an interview with TeamRock Radio's Dewsbury, he says: "I blame Thin Lizzy I did a stint with them in 2011 and it reignited my passion for playing guitar again. So I came off that tour and called Vinny, Jimmy and Claude, just to play for the fun of it. Then Vinnie called up Andrew Freeman, he started singing and that was it."

Campbell admits it took him many years to recover from the pain of being fire by Dio a move that led to both of them making negative comments about the other in the press.

"It was very painful for me," he says. "It's taken a long time for me to come to terms with it. It's a big part of my heritage and I'm very happy to be out there reclaiming it." more.
