Freese, who's previously played with Devo, Weezer and Nine Inch Nails, was also a member of Guns n'Roses alongside Stinson, and toured as part of Westerberg's solo band in the 1990s alongside Minehan. The band were reactivated after former guitarist Slim Dunlap suffered a debilitating stroke last year. Westerberg and Stinson recorded a covers EP, Songs For Slim, to help with his medical bills.
