Pharrell Going 'Rap-Free' For New Solo Album
. Although the details surrounding the album are minimal, one facet that is sure to catch people's attention is that the album will be done completely rap-free. Pharrell explained that although he retains a passion for spitting verses, time has changed him, particularly the aspects of marriage and fatherhood in his life now. "No rapping. It's focused," he said. "That's the difference between 30 and 40. 'Cause I was 30, now I'm 40�and I'm not rapping." Pharrell did not reveal a release date for this upcoming album. Probably because he's too busy producing the soundtrack to the upcoming Spider Man sequel. For that project, Pharrell is teaming up with his super music friends like composer Hans Zimmer, Incubus guitarist Mike Einziger, Johnny Marr of the Smiths, and Dave Stewart of Eurhythmics. When asked how he approaches making songs for other people he said, "You just get a feeling, something comes to you. It's like conversation. That's really what it is. It's an exchange of conversation. It's just that it's chords instead of sentences.
