Lady Antebellum Release 'Compass' Video

(Radio.com) "Compass" came as something of a November surprise for fans of Lady Antebellum. The band had just released its new studio album Golden in May, but that didn't stop bandmates Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood from turning around and reissuing a "deluxe" version of Golden with extra tracks only six months later. The reissue includes three brand-new songs, and one of them, "Compass," is the band's current radio single.

This week, Lady Antebellum released a "Compass" music video as well, and it's a colorful, joyful affair that matches the positive tone of the song itself. The music video for "Compass" was helmed by Peter Zavadil, a veteran country music video director who also was behind their two most recent videos, "Goodbye Town" and "Downtown." Other notable Zavadil videos include Eric Church's "Springsteen" (for which he even created a short film that expanded the video's concepts), Dustin Lynch's "Cowboys and Angels" and Florida Georgia Line's "Stay."

During an interview this fall with E! News, the bandmates said they embrace trying new sounds, and "Compass" is an example of that. "We love trying to push it," Haywood said. "For us, it was fun. We had a little time off for Hillary and we came back and had this song come in and we fell in love with it."

"Compass" is "a personal message, but not a preachy one, that's gonna be a sing-a-long in the live show, not a sit-and-think about every single lyric," Scott told Rolling Stone. Watch it here.
