Lars Ulrich Is Anxious About 'Metallica by Request' Tour
. Speaking with BBC Radio 1, Ulrich says even though he doesn't know what to expect from the fans' picks, he's glad someone else is making the call on what to play on the trek. "It certainly gives me butterflies in the stomach in a good way and I think it should be a lot of fun for the fans," he said. "This at least put a stop to the whining about the set list because it's basically the fans that's picking it." Ulrich also said he's excited to play a new song during the tour, even if he's not quite sure which tune they'll pick. "Since 2014 is basically about the next Metallica record and we're so excited about writing and getting all that off the ground that it only is right to bring a new song out there," he said. "Obviously we haven't quite figured out what that's gonna be, but as we get a little closer, hopefully we'll come up with something cool." The tour, dubbed the "Metallica by Request" tour, will kick off May 28 and travel through a collection of European countries through July 11. more on this story Gibson.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
