Former Anthrax Guitarist Arrested On Christmas Day

Former Anthrax guitarist Dan Spitz spent Christmas day in jail after he was arrested for suspicion of domestic violence, but his wife Candi says it was just a "big misunderstanding."

South Florida based Gossip Extra reports that police were called to Spitz's home in Lake Worth, Fl by Candi's mother early Christmas morning because the guitarist and his wife were arguing after they had been drinking on Christmas Eve.

Candi told the site that "we were all drinking wine, and he just snapped." She said that Spitz then started to pack his bags and she stood in his way and that was when the argument escalated, but she says that he did not hit her.

"I'm not planning on pursuing this in court," Candi told the site. "This was a big misunderstanding. My mom should've never called 911. He never hit me or tried to harm me. He did shove me, and unfortunately I bruised my shoulder. But come on: He's 5 feet tall and 100 pounds all wet. And I kickbox. He could never harm me if he tried."

Spitz was arrested and booked into Palm Beach County jail at 5AM on Christmas Day and was released the next afternoon (December 26th). Read the report here.
