Jerrod Niemann Shares Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton Writing Experience
. In an interview with Radio.com, Niemann explained how he came to pen tracks for Garth Brooks and Blake Shelton. "Really every situation is unique," he said. "In the particular case of Mr. Garth Brooks, I had just moved to Nashville and I ran into one of my friends from college. I didn't know that he lived in Nashville either and he showed up at my house one night and said, 'Man, you wouldn't believe this! I just ran into Garth Brooks and he's agreed to listen to some of our songs.'" Niemann wrote several singles for Brooks including "Good Ride Cowboy," "That Girl Is a Cowboy" and "Midnight Sun" and recalled when he got his first phone call from the singer. "My mom was in Nashville for Mother's Day and I was taking her to the airport and I got a phone call and it said 'Caller ID blocked,'" he said. "To be honest I thought it was either a collection agency or probably an angry ex-girlfriend. When it was Garth Brooks I was very surprised and about crashed my truck. At that moment I got to know him and we began writing." more on this story Radio.com is an official news provider for antiMusic.com.
