Adele May Score Oscar First

(Radio.com) This year's nominees for Best Original Song include a Bond girl, an Avenger and the one and only Wolverine.

Adele earned herself an Oscar nomination with her song "Skyfall" from the Bond film of the same name. The song was written and produced by Paul Epworth, who worked with the Brit on her 2011 album 21.

Though this is the third time a Bond theme has been nominated for an Oscar—Paul and Linda McCartney for "Live and Let Die" in 1973, Marvin Hamlisch and Carole Bayer Sager for Carly Simon's "Nobody Does it Better" in 1977 and Bill Conti and Mick Leeson for 1981′s "For Your Eyes Only" as sung by Sheena Easton—if Adele wins, she will be the first 007 singer to take home the big prize.
