Today Marc Mysterio tells us about his brand new track, "Booty On Tha Floor" which features hip hop star Flo Rida and was edited by DJs From Mars. Here is the story:

Brandy not following through on her feature on "Shout It Out" and not returning the money for over a year, with the addition settlement cash, handcuffed us in what we could do. I decided to give it another go to get a big feature in late 2011, and made first contact with Flo's team in early 2012.

As far as the sound of the tune goes, I wanted to do something more old school in that it had less vocals and the production and music is what drove the song. I think as DJ artists, with EDM becoming mainstream, we've forgotten a bit whom we are and why we are artists in the first place. Grammy winner Roger Sanchez once explained when the dj helms the project he is the artist and while the vocalist is a part of the performance, the vocals are an extension of the DJs performance and elements produced by him later performed live.

Now, if we are just making pop records, perhaps we are no longer artists? We explained to Jay and E-Class that we just wanted to do this right and they're pretty old school so we connected on that level. I think the sound of the song properly represents old school meeting new school. As one of the first djs in the mainstream press back in 2009 with Samantha Fox, I hope that some of the newer guys will at least consider doing a similar arrangement, even for fun on a more clubbier release.

Sully Erna of Godsmack once told me, "be yourself everyone else is already taken" so I'm really applying that logic on this record with "Booty On The Floor'.

For my next move, Jay Washington had mentioned Kesha could be a good fit for a song of mine. I have one called "who got milf" she'd be perfect for and still needs a bridge - would love to co-write it with her and her mom Pebe Sebert - they are both amazing writers!

Also, would like to branch out in to more hard rock style vocals on my album for one track only though and get someone like Ozzy, Al Barr from the Dropkick Murphys or Sully Erna from Godsmack as a feature on a record - would be an edgy new sound!

Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself right here!
