Lopez and her management have reportedly been in talks with American Idol producers even before it was announced that last season's judges, Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, were not returning to the show, according to RadarOnline.

"Benny [Medina, J. Lo's manger] told FOX that she does indeed want to return," a source told RadarOnline. "They're talking. Negotiations are in their infant stages, but they're underway to get her back to the judges' table."

Their sources say that a return to the show would allow Lopez to settle her and her five-year-old twins' life in Los Angeles as the children prepare to begin kindergarten.

"Idol allowed her to do that," a source said. "The twins will enter kindergarten in the Fall and stability is important for them � and J.Lo � at this time.
