Kings of Leon and the Flaming Lips Lead Rock For Oklahoma Lineup
. The "Rock for Oklahoma" concert will be held July 23rd in Oklahoma City, and will also feature Jackson Browne, Built to Spill and more, according to local newspaper Tulsa World. The newspaper reports that most performers have a special connection to Oklahoma, with Kings of Leon and the Flaming Lips both calling the state home. "We couldn't be more proud to lend a hand to our home state. We were all devastated by what happened there�we have family and friends that were affected by the tornadoes�.this is the least we could do," Kings of Leon's Jared Followill told Tulsa World. Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne added, "We are trying to not just be here at the moment of immediate need, but to stay and help with the rebuilding. After all, this is our home and they are us and we are them."
