Duck Dynasty Tops American Idol Following Morrissey Controversy
. The singer pulled out of an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! earlier this week when he learned that cast members of Duck Dynasty were scheduled to appear on the program. It appears that the singer's outrage over what he called "animal serial killers" may have helped the show not only score their biggest ratings ever, but also made it the biggest ratings for a cable reality show this year and the most watched show in A&E's history, according to Aceshowbiz. Duck Dynasty attracted 8.6 million viewers this week and scored a 4.0 rating within the coveted 18-49 demographic, which beat American Idol's and Modern Family's 3.9 rating for the same demo. In fact, American Idol hit a series low rating on Wednesday night receiving only 13.1 million viewers, their least amount of viewers on a Wednesday since the series debuted in 2002. They also had the lowest young adult rating since 2003.
