Singled Out: Palmyra Delran
. I was reading a biography about Nick Drake and connected with how painfully shy he was. He had so many beautiful songs and thoughts rolling around inside, but couldn't deal with social situations very well. He didn't even play many live shows at all in his short career. I always remember that book when I meet shy people. I know there's probably so much cool, interesting, and complex stuff going on inside of them. Sonically, I wanted a poppy feel with beautiful harmonies and just a drop of sadness. A little minor chord thrown in there for drama, and a lovely guitar solo. Hearing is believing. Now that you know the story behind the song, listen for yourself here and learn more about the album right here!
